Wæm Yăgæ Ver (/ˈjə̝gæ/ /ver/ [convenient] [cage; prison; jail]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Deosuz̄ikhe Parish, Rubivælǐ District, within the Federation of Alveria.

The name Wæm Yăgæ Ver is derived from the Constructi language, as Wæm Yăgæ Ver was founded by Thurnus Êyêmê, who was culturaly Constructi.

Climate

Wæm Yăgæ Ver has a yearly average temperature of 21°C (69°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 16°C (60°F). Wæm Yăgæ Ver receives an average of 217 cm/y (85 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Wæm Yăgæ Ver covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1400 m (4593 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Wæm Yăgæ Ver was founded durring the late 11th century, by Thurnus Êyêmê. The establishment of Wæm Yăgæ Ver was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Thurnus Êyêmê electing to pay people to resettle in Wæm Yăgæ Ver.

Wæm Yăgæ Ver was built using the conventions of Constructi durring the late 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Wæm Yăgæ Ver is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Wæm Yăgæ Ver is buildings are arranged arround a network of spacious split-log ties streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. The town's minimaly adiquite are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

Cultural Notes

Wæm Yăgæ Ver's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is which made use of the classical orders and mathematically precise ratios of height and width combined with a desire for symmetry, proportion, and harmony. It used columns, pediments, arches and domes are imaginatively in buildings of all types. Decorative features were seen as largely unnecessary as the sheer beauty of the structure itself was often close to art. However, many buildings with large ceiling spaces had their ceilings decorated with elaborate paintings, simply because the large flat spaces could feel wasted.

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is long in Wæm Yăgæ Ver.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Wæm Yăgæ Ver was attacked by a group of notorious bandits. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Wæm Yăgæ Ver lost 294 people, 333 livestock, and 51 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 196, when members of Wæm Yăgæ Ver's militia enacted an operation to patrol a specific area to dissuade the enemy from their current activities. The operation was complicated by a trusted officer who turned traitor and defects. The conflict ended with the defense of the research site against a siege, which ended in a crushing defeat for Wæm Yăgæ Ver's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Wæm Yăgæ Ver's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
